Photoengravings used in The Offenbacher Haggadah, 1927.

Six copper photoengravings created from Fritz Kredel's original woodcuts, and used in printing illustrations and music in The Offenbacher Haggadah (Offenbach am Main: Guggenheim, 1927). The volume was edited by Siegfried Guggenheim and issued in an edition of 300. The plates here are for the text illustrations on pages 8, 28, 86, and 87, and for music on pages 41 and 75. Also included is one copper photoengraving which was not used in the volume; it contains the text on the burning bush, which appears on page 26, enclosed within a decorative border like that on page 95. Accompanied by two related articles, "Die sammlung Siegfried Guggenheim im Klingspor-Museum," by Hans Adolf Halbey (1972), and "A survey of twentieth century artistic Haggadot," by Leila Avrin (1987).

7 copper photoengraving plates (in two boxes) ; 20 cm and smaller.
